Chief Minister launches ‘One District One Police Station’ project
Chief Minister Sh. Virbhadra Singh today launched the ‘One District One Police Station’ (ODPS) pilot project from Dharamshala.
Chief Minister said that this project was aimed at benefiting the public and it would ensure quality and timely reporting to ensure speedy delivery of justice to the people. He said that forensic science was playing a vital role in delivering justice in criminal cases.
Chief Minister told that the motto of this project was quality and timely reporting. He said that forensic science played a vital role in the criminal justice delivery system and increase in the speed by giving timely report under ODPS would increase the speed police by way of putting Challan in the court resulting in delivery of justice. The project was aimed at benefiting the public.
Sh. Virbhadra Singh said that it was first of its kind in the country being launched during the silver jubilee year of HPFSL. The regional forensic science laboratory (RFSL) was on the mailing list of RCMP Journal Canada and FBI News Bulletin, USA. He said that the first district in northern range and police station selected by the department was Sadar Thana, Dharamshala.
Town and Country Planning Minister Sh. Sudhir Sharma, MLA’s Sh. Sanjay Rattan and Sh. Pawan Kajal and Dr. Arun Sharma, Director, FSL were also present on the occasion.
