ACC (Barmana) Donates RS. 1.75 Crores
Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, was presented a draft of Rs. 1.75 crore by Shri Rakesh Sinha, Director (Plant) and Shri Sanjiv Kapoor, Head – Public Affairs, as final instalment of Rs. 4.00 crore donation committed by the Associated Cements Company (ACC) Barmana for the construction of world class synthetic track at Hamirpur . The total estimate of world class synthetic athletic track, had been estimated to cost Rs 6.89 crore and it’ll provide facilities to organize nine types of sports events at the same venue.
Chief Minister thanked the Management of ACC for coming forward to finance the world class synthetic track construction project at Hamirpur which was bound to motivate the young and budding athletes of the State to learn the techniques from qualified coaches to compete at national and international level athletic events.
Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, said that Himachal Pradesh had vast potential of world class sportspersons who needed world class infrastructural facilities to compete at international level. He said that the State Government was motivating business houses to come forward in lending their supportive hand in creation of such facilities to create state of the art sports infrastructure so that the energy of the youth was channelized towards constructive and positive activities.
