Dharamsala: The Kingfisher Miss Tibet Pageant-2010 began today with the four contestants participating in the swimsuit round at Funky Town resort here this afternoon. Three judges checked the participant for confidence, poise and presentation in this round.

The four contestants earlier underwent vigorous one-week training in yoga with Viktoria Lenz, and in dance with Tsering Palmo of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, and catwalk and grooming sessions with Heidi Swank and Kelsang Tsomo (Lakar). Tibetan journalist Tashi Wangchuk lectured them on Tibetan journalism, Tenzin Norbu on Tibetan democracy, Tsering Choedup spoke on Tibetan activism, Jampa Monlam spoke about the human rights situation in Tibet, and Tsering Yangkey on the environment situation in Tibet.

The contestants visited the Tibetan government-in-exile, Tsuglakhang temple, Nechung Monastery, and the Tibetan Children’s Village School, where they listened to the teachings of the Dalai Lama.
