Shoolini Education & Job Fair a great crowd-puller

Solan: Students and their parents from Solan, Shimla & nearby areas turned up in large numbers on the very first day of the 2-day Shoolini Education & Job Fair that started on Saturday at the Thodo ground in Solan.

Organized by Disha Education Group, the fest was inaugurated by state education minister ID Dhiman. This fest will be showcasing career counseling-cum admission guidance stalls by more than 40 premier educational institutions from across North India. The fair is featuring free aptitude test by ITFT Chandigarh, on-the-spot job offers with MBA admissions by Symentic Business School, live demo of international cuisines by SRHM (Singapore Hospitality and Resort Management), guaranteed placement for all new admissions by Doaba Group of Institution and many other attractive offers from other educational institutes.

Interestingly, young students showed more interest in new-age education stalls from animation, and aviation & hospitality teaching institutes rather than enquiring about regular streams like engineering or medical education. While visiting the fest it was quite evident that in the present era, students and parents are more eager to know about new professions & new sectors of education. ITFT Chandigarh had hosted a free aptitude test for students helping them in identifying their true potential. This test was assessed by renowned educationalist and psychiatrist and results were announced on the spot. “People know very less about this scientific way of assessing ones aptitude and we have provided an opportunity to the students at their doorstep,” said Nalendera Verma, director, Disha Education.

Promising wings to dreams, FrankFinn Institute of Airhostess Training was the ultimate crowd puller at the fest. Hundreds of young girls enquired about career in the fast developing aviation sector. Animation and hospitality institutes were the other sectors where students showed great interest. Rakesh Verma, co-ordinator Doaba Group of Colleges, stated, “These types of events need to be organized on a regular basis so that students in every corner of the state may know about latest options and techniques in the field of higher education”.
