Himachal gets new Railway Lines in Railways Budget
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh got a mention in the Railway budget this time as Mamta Banerjee announced five new railway lines to the state in her budget speech.
She said Jogindernagar line to be extended upto Mandi linking it to Bilaspur Leh Railway line which was also mentioned in the budget speech. She also announced the Parwanoo Darlaghat line and Baddi – Nalagarh – Kala Amb – Paonta Sahib line.
Not much can be read in these announcements though as many of these are at the survey stage and it will take many many years before actual work can be started on any of these projects.
Himachal Pradesh can take solace at least these projects have found mention in the Railway minister’s budget speech.
Meanwhile the political parties in the state namely the BJP and Congress will leave no stone unturned claiming credit for inclusions of these projects.
