Whats New in JEE 2014:
1. The JEE Main 2014 Application Form is online. Candidates have to upload their photographs, signature and the left thumb impression in JPEG format as specified. No documents have to be sent to the JEE Main office
2. Maharashtra and Odisha also join Gujarat in the JEE Main system with JEE Main 2014 as the entrance exams for the engineering admissions in these state.
Himachal state roadways buses have been increased by a whopping 30 per cent . The rise will come into effect from October 1.
This was announced by the state transport minister G S Bali over the weekend after the state Cabinet gave its approval.
Bali said the government has been forced to take the decision in view of the sharp rise in diesel prices and increase in prices of spare parts buses.
The minimum bus fare has been increased from Rs 2 to Rs 5, an increase of Rs 3. For a distance of 5 km the new rate will be Rs 5.
“Bus fares in state roadways buses are being raised after a couple of years. Per km in Himachal its is 1.11 per km and is 1.50 per km in the neighbouring hill state of Uttarakhand,” Bali said. With the rise in state roadways buses, the government might soon give its nod for raising the fares of private buses.
Private operators have been urging the state government for the past couple of months to raise fares.
Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh disclosed here today that construction work in Kirtpur-Manali four lane project would commence soon as the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India have cleared the proposal of the State Government for divergence of 75 hectares of forest land in Bilaspur district under Forest Conservation Act (FCA).
Shri Virbhadra Singh said that this would pave the way for expeditious commencement of Rs. 2300 crore Kiratpur-Manali four lane project upto Nerchowk, Mandi. He said that State Government had announced land acquisition award pertaining to three revenue villages in Bilaspur district.
Chief Minister said that construction works on the tunnel below Swarghat and on the four lane project would commence soon by IL&FS engineering and Construction Company, as all clearances have been received from Government of India and State Government.

A Spokesperson of the State Government said here today that All India Radio, Shimla will also broadcast this message on the same day at 8 PM. This broadcast will be followed by the episode of “Him Beats”, based on the completion of 30 years of Shri Virbhadra Singh in Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.
Municipal Corporation here has issued notice to cut electricity and water connections of anybody found duping construction debris illegally.
According to the notice issued with immediate effect, duping debris without permission for the fourth time (fine for first three times) could result in cut of electricity and water connections and also result in a disapproval of the approved building map.
The MC notice confirms that persons found duping debris illegally will be fined 10 times for the first time. Accordingly, the persons duping debris without permission the second and the third time will be fined 20 and 30 times respectively.
However, the fourth time around, electricity and water connections to the building would be disconnected, and even the permitted map could be disapproved.
A case will be filled against anyone who does not pay the specified fine.
To make sure no one dumps debris illegally, MC Shimla has recognized 14 dumping sites in various areas of the city, where charges would be levied according to the size of the vehicle.
