4 laneChief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh disclosed here today that construction work in Kirtpur-Manali four lane project would commence soon as the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India have cleared the proposal of the State Government for divergence of 75 hectares of forest land in Bilaspur district under Forest Conservation Act (FCA).

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that this would pave the way for expeditious commencement of Rs. 2300 crore Kiratpur-Manali four lane project upto Nerchowk, Mandi. He said that State Government had announced land acquisition award pertaining to three revenue villages in Bilaspur district.

Chief Minister said that construction works on the tunnel below Swarghat and on the four lane project would commence soon by IL&FS engineering and Construction Company, as all clearances have been received from Government of India and State Government.

The message of Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh on the eve of Himachal Day will be telecast on 14th April, 2013 at 7:15 PM on Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla.

A Spokesperson of the State Government said here today that All India Radio, Shimla will also broadcast this message on the same day at 8 PM. This broadcast will be followed by the episode of “Him Beats”, based on the completion of 30 years of Shri Virbhadra Singh in Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.

Municipal Corporation here has issued notice to cut electricity and water connections of anybody found duping construction debris illegally.

According to the notice issued with immediate effect, duping debris without permission for the fourth time (fine for first three times) could result in cut of electricity and water connections and also result in a disapproval of the approved building map.
The MC notice confirms that persons found duping debris illegally will be fined 10 times for the first time. Accordingly, the persons duping debris without permission the second and the third time will be fined 20 and 30 times respectively.

However, the fourth time around, electricity and water connections to the building would be disconnected, and even the permitted map could be disapproved.

A case will be filled against anyone who does not pay the specified fine.

To make sure no one dumps debris illegally, MC Shimla has recognized 14 dumping sites in various areas of the city, where charges would be levied according to the size of the vehicle.

The prices for duping in legal areas will be as follows:

Rs 10 per cement bag full of debris

Rs 300 per Pick-up truck

Rs 700 per small tipper

Rs 1200 per tipper

Relief fundChief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh was presented a cheque of Rs. one crore towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on behalf of Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board by Industries and Information and Public Relations Minister, Shri Mukesh Agnihotri here today. Bawa Hardeep Singh, Chairman of the Board was also present on the occasion.

Shri Mukesh Agnihotri said that Chief Minister had urged the people to contribute liberally towards Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Agnihotri said that State Government was providing additional benefits to entrepreneurs in Himachal Pradesh. He said that the industrial clearances by State Level Single Window Clearances and Monitoring Authority would now be given within 90 days of receiving the application. He said this would help in encouraging the entrepreneurs to invest in the State, which in turn would result in greater economic activities and generate employment avenues to the youth of the State.

Industries Minister said that three new state of the art industrial areas would be set up in the State. He said that these industrial areas would be developed in Una, Solan and Kangra district. He said that Government would provide services of Home Guards jawans on payment basis to the industrial units in the State for ensuring conducive and peaceful environment in the industrial units.

Dr. P.C. Kapoor, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Labour and Employment, Ms. Nandita Gupta, Labour Commissioner, Shri D.K. Manta, Secretary-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and senior officers were present on the occasion.

ambulanceChief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh handed over the keys of two ambulances to Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy, Solan and Shree Sanatan Dharm Sabha, here today. These ambulances have been donated by State Bank of India under corporate social responsibility.

One ambulance has been given to Shree Sanatan Dharm Sabha and another to Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy, Solan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that apart from catering the banking needs of the people of the State, SBI was also providing valuable services in health, education and social service sectors. He said such activities would go a long way in providing relief to the poor and needy section of the society.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy was also working for the well being of disabled persons. He urged them to reach out to every person suffering with Muscular dystrophy.

Showcasing the strengths of Himachal Pradesh in the form of its natural beauty, culture, art and hospitability, Sh. Subhasish Panda, Director (Tourism & Civil Aviation), H.P. today interacted with various film production companies at Mumbai in the “Shoot at Site” conclave organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Mr. Panda took the opportunity to invite the Film Producers to shoot their films in Himachal Pradesh where the natural environment is conducive for making films.

Sh. Subhasish Panda said that this would help in tourism promotion, if film producers make their headway towards Himachal. The State has many beautiful areas amidst the splendour of nature. He said that in the recent past many popular films were shot in the State adding that the diverse topography, cultural-heritage & traditions of the State would be an added attraction for film production houses. Sh. Subhasish Panda said that Himachal Pradesh has more than 2200 hotels including 57 hotels of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation situated in beautiful locations.

A buyer-seller meet with the tourism travel- trade was also organized. Shri Panda said that he had interaction with a large number of production houses including Balaji Motion Pictures Limited, Rahul Roy Productions, Film City studios etc. and discussed possibilities of shooting films in Himachal in the near future.

Sh Rahul Roy, Actor, showed keen interest for shooting his forthcoming movie in the State.
